Course highlights

The Graduate Certificate of Applied Mindfulness focuses on Eastern and Western approaches to mindfulness, mindfulness and acceptance in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness and neuroscience influence, and applied mindfulness.

An innovative course to enhance holistic care

Mindfulness approaches, arising from Eastern practices, have been recognised as a third-wave of psychotherapy in Western societies because of their contribution to improved psychological functioning and use in reducing emotional issue across a range of illnesses.
Mindfulness based therapies consist of a wide range of techniques suitable to individual needs, similar to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This course explores core elements of mindfulness across a range of techniques and the relationship between mindfulness and de-automatisation.

Build your expertise around mindfulness-based intervention

You will gain a deep understanding of mindfulness exercises and will develop critical and analytical skills in relation to the theories and rationale of this approach, which in turn, can be applied to your own life and work areas.
You will practice face-to-face mindfulness-based intervention during a residential school under experienced Mindfulness supervisors and will be required to exercise the approach in daily life through diary-record or written-work assessments.

Investigate the capacity and capability of our cognitive function

Human behaviour can manifest as a direct reflection of the anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system. Investigate the relationship between brain function and social-cognitive mindfulness that may help to predict variance in behavioural changes.

Flexible study options

CSU has an excellent reputation for providing quality education delivered by dedicated academics with relevant industry experience. You can study online at your own pace, studying as many subjects per session as you can manage. There is a single residential school subject where you will need to travel to a CSU campus.
