  • Why study this course?

    This course will develop the skills needed to create your own quality apps for the Android, iOS or Windows mobile platforms. No programming experience is assumed. Our enthusiastic and experienced academics will assist you with the processes, tools and frameworks required to develop applications for current and emerging mobile computing devices. You will work at all stages of software development from creation through to implementation and testing.  Use the knowledge you gain to write the next killer app or to launch your career as a software developer.

    CSU's flexible learning environment allows students to study this online course by distance education from anywhere in the world. Subjects are taught using a range of blended learning techniques that include online study materials, video-captured lectures, online meetings, subject forums and additional study resources. You may choose to study either one or two subjects per session.

  • Credit and pathways

    Applicants may receive up to two subjects credit for prior study if they can demonstrate that such study was completed at a recognised higher education institution within the last 10 years at postgraduate level. Industry certifications in relevant areas will also be considered for credit.

    Complete the IT Masters Eligibility Form to receive feedback on the level of credit you may be eligible to receive.

    Credit for prior learning and credit for current competencies will be granted to eligible applicants.

  • Admission information

    Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Mobile Applications Development on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will then be eligible for admission to the Master of Mobile Applications Development and receive credit for applicable subjects.

  • About the School
    School of Computing and Mathematics

    The School of Computing and Mathematics is a cross-campus School, based at the Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Wagga Wagga campuses, and offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees online. The School has strong external research and consultancy links, creating a range of opportunities for students to mix their study with interesting research projects. The School of Computing and Mathematics has an excellent national reputation, with a research profile that is ranked at world level according to the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) evaluation. In addition, the School was recently ranked by University Reviews as offering one of the top two computer science courses in Australia for 2016. The focus of teaching and research is on practical applications of information and communication technology, mathematics and statistics to applied problems in industry, the environment and business.

  • Academic expectations

    For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.

    Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.

    Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).

    Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.

    Throughout their studies, CSU students have a responsibility to continue to develop skills in English Language, literacy and numeracy as appropriate to their discipline. This ongoing development will enable students to effectively participate in their course and graduate as competent professionals.
