Arrival

So you don't feel lost when you first arrive in the city where you will study, we offer a free arrival reception. On the week before orientation week a CSU representative will meet you at the airport or train/bus station in your chosen campus city between 8am and 8pm. We have many study locations, take advice from your International Student Liaison Officer (ISLO) about your arrival options.

Pre-departure information

You will find a link to your Pre-departure guide [PDF] in your welcome letter. It is a useful resource as you prepare to come to Australia to study. It is important you read all the information provided. If you have any further questions or concerns contact your International Student Liaison Officer (ISLO).

To access the Pre-departure information and checklist online you will need to login using your CSU username and password:

Sydney airport

When you arrive by plane in Sydney, you will enter Australia through the International Terminal (T1). You will then need to take a connecting domestic flight to your CSU campus city. Flights leave from the Domestic Terminal T3 or T2, depending on which airline you take. You can fly direct from Sydney to your regional campus city with either; QantasLink, REX (Regional Express) or Virgin Australia (for Albury-Wodonga only). The flights to our regional campus cities will take maximum one hour duration.

Please note: it may take a couple of hours to clear customs and immigration at the International Terminal (if you arrive at a busy time). So when booking connecting domestic flights make sure you give yourself enough time. If you are unsure please discuss this with your International Student Liaison Officer (ISLO) before confirming your flight bookings.

Travel to your campus

Most international students arrive in Australia at Sydney's International airport. Then travel to their campus city by plane, train or bus. You need to give yourself enough time to get to the right terminal or station, immigration and customs if you are booking connecting flights.

On your arrival, a CSU representative will welcome you in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Orange, Port Macquarie or Wagga Wagga. They will transport you to your accommodation. If you arrange for a friend or relative to meet you instead, please tell your ISLO.

This service starts at least a week before the Orientation Week and continues up to the last day of the first week of classes. The pickup times are restrictive between 8am and 8pm. Before commencement, please refer to the dates appropriate to your session.
