CSU’s most innovative business course has landed
Our Bachelor of Business (Industry Professional Practice) has been specifically designed with one thing in mind – to create future business professionals. Developed in close collaboration with industry, we’ve created a unique business course that sees students develop in-demand business skills from day one.
New business degree delivers with industry collaboration.
Hear from Ellie Brown, Director, NSW Business Chamber, as she shares her thoughts on why engaging with industry in course development is so important, and why she believes this course is just what business students need when setting themselves up for a successful career.
At Charles Sturt University (CSU), we already have a strong suite of business courses that we’re very proud of. We meet regularly with industry to ensure we’re offering what employers need. Recently, our industry contacts told us something curious: there was a growing need for graduates that were business generalists. Graduates that had a true and broad understanding of business and business functions, in addition to specialist knowledge. They wanted graduates who could hit the ground running with whatever was thrown their way. We also knew it was important to give our students the opportunity to enhance their skills if they had a particular area of interest, by including joint study options.
So we sat down and, side-by-side with our industry contacts, designed a cutting-edge business course – the Bachelor of Business (Industry Professional Practice).
We hand-picked important theory elements from our business courses and added a range of practical experience and extracurricular support to create this standalone business degree.
Joint study. In addition to your overarching business knowledge, you can gain expertise in a particular area of interest through one of our available joint studies. Choose a specialisation from Accounting and Finance, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Management or Marketing. For example, a joint study in Entrepreneurship will help you take on the world with resilience, creativity and a growth mindset. You’ll have the practical skills and knowledge to develop your own business, work as a corporate innovation manager or establish a start-up venture.
Industry relationships. We’ll work with you to develop the industry relationships you’re looking for in your career, right from the beginning of the course.
Tailored career support. Our business academic and career specialists will work one-on-one with you on your career goals and direction throughout your course.
Workplace readiness. You’ll take part in supported professional development activities.
Practice makes perfect. This course gives you a training ground in which to hone your skills, practise your knowledge and become adept in a broad range of business areas.
Only three days on campus. It’s a full-time course, but we’ve scheduled all your face-to-face learning over three days a week on campus, so you don’t have to completely relocate and can keep working. We’ve got lower cost accommodation options for short stays too.
The world is your workplace. This degree equips you to succeed in 21st-century business settings across Australia and around the globe. You can work in your hometown or in one of the busiest cities in the world – it’s completely up to you.
The greatest skill of all: confidence. With diverse business skills, extensive practical development and workplace experience behind you, you’ll be able to walk into any business environment with confidence.
A unique business course for a unique career
