Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Industry Entry Program

I'm a domestic student, commencingstudent, looking to commence studying in 2025.
There are no upcoming offerings for the year 2025.
This course has no domestic offering.
This course has no international offering.

Become a secondary teacher and share your knowledge with the next generation. Our fully accredited Bachelor of Education (Secondary) − Industry Entry builds on (and gives credit for) the skills you've acquired in your professional life and reshapes them into a new career inspiring high school students. Also, because we value that experience, you could receive credit for up to a third of the degree – meaning you graduate sooner.

You'll specialise in a secondary school discipline related to your experience in your trade – and put your skills into action on professional placements (we have a dedicated team who will aim to find you a placement in your preferred location). Plus, you're in the driver's seat: you can study completely online, anywhere in Australia, full-time or part-time, so you can qualify as a teacher while working.

This course is part of an articulated program of study. Articulated programs allow you to build on your study to achieve the right level of qualification for you.

Is this the right course for you? Take our one minute personalised quiz to find out more.

    Why study with us?

Your experience is valued and recognised

The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) - Industry Entry offers significant credit toward a teaching degree in a number of secondary school discipline specialisations. Relevant trade or industry knowledge and experience gained through study and in the workplace may result in up to one third of your degree being credited through our recognition of prior learning process. This recognition values what you bring to the course, makes becoming a teacher more readily attainable, and means you can graduate earlier.

Position your career into a high demand area

This education course aims to meet the future employment demands for secondary English, human society and its environment (HSIE), mathematics, science, and technology and applied studies (TAS) teachers. Gain the knowledge and skills required to teach Years 7 to 12 in your teaching area(s). You'll develop professional knowledge and values, including how to develop learning activities, monitor and assess student progress and learning activities, and employ appropriate teaching and learning technologies pertinent to your field.

Specialise in your area of expertise

Teaching areas within this teaching degree include English, HSIE (which includes history, business studies and geography), mathematics, science, and TAS. If your goal is to become a TAS teacher, you'll study design and technology and choose one additional teaching area from agricultural, food, industrial, information and or textiles technology.

    Graduate industry-ready

Gain valuable hands-on skills through three professional experience subjects where you'll undertake a total of 80 days of workplace learning. During these placements, you'll observe and practice teaching, enabling you to apply knowledge from your studies to the secondary school environment.
