Equity and Merit Scholarships and Grants
The ISSP - Accommodation/Relocation Scholarship is to assist students with the cost of relocation, accommodation or commuting to campus

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this Scholarship in 2019 you must meet the eligibility criteria below and the additional criteria specific to your circumstances, you must be:

  1. an Indigenous Australian citizen;
  2. studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree as an active student;
  3. enrolled in a CSU course as a Commonwealth supported student;
  4. enrolled as a part-time or full-time student;
  5. a commencing or continuing student. Continuing students must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher (pass grade average);
  6. enrolled as an internal or mixed mode student;
  7. of low socio-economic status:
    • in receipt of an eligible means tested Centrelink Benefit or
    • must be able to demonstrate financial hardship.

Priority will be awarded to Indigenous students from remote or regional areas.

  • Relocation component $1500
    • Full-time
    • must have relocated over 100 kms from home address for the purpose of attending on campus classes
    • Once only payment
  • Accommodation component (living off campus) $6000
    • Full-time
    • Able to provide rental agreement to support application
    • Mixed mode/Internal student (majority internal subjects)
    • If eligible continuing students may be considered for the living off campus accommodation component for a maximum of 3 years after receiving this scholarship in their commencing year
  • Accommodation (living on campus) $6000
    • Full-time
    • Have relocated over 100 kms for the purpose of attending on campus classes
    • Internal student/mixed mode student (majority internal subjects)
    • Credit on student account
  • Accommodation component (living on campus) $6000
    • Full-time
    • Have relocated over 100 kms for the purpose of attending on campus classes
    • Internal student/mixed mode student (majority internal subjects)
    • Credit on student account
  • Accommodation component (living off campus) $6000
    • Full-time
    • Able to provide rental agreement to support application
    • Internal student/mixed mode student (majority internal subjects)
  • Commuting component - $1000 per session 1 & 2
    • Full-time or part-time
    • Internal student/mixed mode student (majority internal subjects)

    • Reside over 100 kms from the enrolled campus

To receive this scholarship you must not be receiving or have received a payment from any other source for the same purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have another scholarship/grant?

If you are receiving any other scholarship or grant for the purpose of relocating or accommodation you may not be eligible for this scholarship.

How do I know if I'm of low socio-economic status?

If you are in receipt of an eligible means-tested Centrelink payment - refer to the guidelines for further information.

You find it difficult to provide basic necessities for yourself, your family or dependent/s.
You will be required to provide additional supporting documentation as listed in the application.

Can I save my application and then finish it at a later date?

Yes you can, as long as you log back in and submit your application before the closing date. 

What if I didn't receive the email receipt?

It might take up to 24 hours for your email receipt to come through.
Have you checked your spam or junk mail folder?
Did you provide the correct email address?

If you still haven't received the receipt after 24 hours, send an email to scholarships.officer@csu.edu.au quoting the application number, your name and student ID.

When will I find out if I was successful?

An email notification will be sent by the outcome notice date, as advertised on the website.

If I am successful when and how do I get paid?

Payments will be made be EFT to your nominated bank account or in some cases onto your student account or by voucher.

How do I register my bank details with CSU?

Register your bank detials with CSU via online administration.

What if my circumstances have changed from what I put on my application form?

You must notify the CSU Scholarship Office immediately by emailing scholarships.officer@csu.edu.au. Upon receipt of details regarding a change in circumstances, CSU may reassess your eligibility.

Will I receive a scholarship/grant if I meet all of the eligibility criteria?

CSU receives a high volume of applications for scholarships and Grants, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee applicants a scholarship offer.

How to Apply

Applications for the Indigenous Accommodation and Relocation Scholarships are submitted via the Universities Admissions Centre of NSW (UAC) or the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
